Sherrie Beaver

SC Department of Education/Office of Student Intervention Services
Education Associate/School Counseling Personnel Liaison
Sherrie Beaver is a Professional Educator /School Counselor veteran serving in South Carolina for 25 plus years.

Sherrie began her career as a high school Science Teacher before entering the world of school counseling. She served as a teacher in Sumter, Florence and Rock Hill and went on to serve as a School Counselor in Rock Hill and as a Drop-out Prevention Counselor for Communities in Schools. She later relocated with her husband to Mount Pleasant where she worked as both a School Counselor and Director of School Counseling at Wando High School.

Sherrie’s passion is advocacy for the school counseling profession so that no one in South Carolina ever asks, “What do School Counselors/Career Specialists do”? Through her role as School Counselor/Career Specialist Liaison, her goal is to promote awareness of the value and benefits of school counseling personnel, serve all counselors and career specialists by providing guidance for “best practices” and lend a listening ear regarding data and feedback from schools across the state.

To decompress and relax, Sherrie enjoys running and spending time with her husband, Bill, an engineer with Boeing, her two sons and her new daughter-in-law, Grace.
