Sandy Jordan

Able South Carolina
Director of Employment Programs
Greenville, SC
Sandy directs Able SC’s employment programs and has a special interest in youth transition, connecting with employers, and financial literacy for individuals with disabilities. Before working at Able SC, she spent ten years providing career supports and guidance to individuals with a variety of disabilities. She enjoys working with our partners to create systemic change so individuals with disabilities have the same employment opportunities as those without disabilities. Sandy is the liaison and facilitator for the SC Disability Employment Coalition, a statewide initiative to decrease employment barriers for people with disabilities. Through the Coalition she coordinates the efforts of the SC Employment First Initiative, a systems change enterprise to increase employment outcomes for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, through collaboration with thirteen project partners. She brings the disability voice to employers by providing technical assistance, troubleshooting reasonable accommodations, and overseeing our annual Employer Summit. Sandy assists youth in transition by creating systems to track outcomes through interagency teams to ensure all youth with disabilities have access to competitive, integrated employment. She regularly connects with the community to share the message of Employment First and is a founding member of the SC Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) chapter. Sandy received her bachelor’s in psychology from Lander University and holds a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Global Career Development Facilitator. In her free time, you can find her involved in Toastmasters to improve her public speaking skills, loving on her two cats, and traveling with her Michelin man (her husband).
