Employers are increasingly noting that soft skills, in addition to academic and technical skills (hard skills), are key to enabling employees to work successfully in an organization. Career readiness is important because it focuses on teaching the skills students need to succeed in real-world jobs. During this session we will share with you a toolkit of activities for engaging your students in understanding why career readiness is important by discussing hard skills vs. soft skills, highlighting career clusters and occupations, completing a reality check and setting goals and planning ahead.
