SCRLA estimated the food service industry generated $10.7 billion in sales within South Carolina during 2018. Preparing students for employment opportunities in this field is crucial. Our future leaders must be cognizant of the responsibilities associated with the retail food service permit issued by SCDHEC. The practical application of these efforts is a matter of awareness and training in safe food handling practices. Participants will have ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns related to preparing their students on topics such as food science, logistics, management, and economics.
